like you know, mayweather is a duckling pero he may give pac a chance to punch his ass off and shut his father down... valero vs pac is also worth a look..

Actually maraming magiging maaring matchup si pac after hatton.
Possible Matches:
- Miguel Cotto
- Shane Mosley
- Julio Caesar Chavez Jr.
- Floyd Mayweather Jr.
- Juan Manuel Marquez (part III)
Panood ko na ang highlights ng laban nila Paul Williams at Winky Wright. Panalo si Williams by U.D. . Tambak si Wright sa scorecard.

Ang alam ko, Valero wants a piece of JMM. So it's possible that he will face JMM instead of Pacman.

sa palagay ko, Pacman vs. JMM III is even better.
Valero beating JMM is another uneasy task.
irvin2030
Wed 15th Apr '09, 09:32
valero's chance against jmm is underrated..
lets see why, jmm fought manny pacquiao, who, while a power puncher is not as hard hitting as edwin valero (antonio pitalua is known to have a good chin pero ko sya in 2 rounds against valero).. manny pacquiao is the better boxer compared to valero pero valero has a stronger punch.. manny pacquiao knocked down marquez a total of 4 times.. syempre pag nahuli ni valero un si marquez maaaring ma-kd or ko sya..
jmm showed his weakness against raging bull fighters (including pacquiao and juan diaz).. while he can win against either of them (he knocked out juan diaz recently and lost in a disputed and close war against pacquiao) he showed that he is having difficulty with those guys who are known to be raging bull (those who attack and attack).. when he knocked out juan diaz, jmm is trailing in two scorecards and a draw in one.. ang daming tinama sa knya ni juan diaz kaya lang hndi power puncher si juan diaz eh..
edwin valero has a very poor defense na kayang i-exploit ni jmm pero he has a punch na kayang pataubin si jmm.. pero un ay kung mkatama sya kay jmm na alam nman nting mgaling umilag hbang sumusuntok.. lamang si jmm in every aspect except chin at power pero his chances of winning is good... i hope it will happne its good for us boxing fans.. at pag nanalo si valero kay jmm he may fight pacquiao (who i think pacquiao has all the advantage except for punching power pero we know, marami sumuntok si pacquiao kaya in the long run it may end in KO for pac or pag nchambahan a ko for valero).. good isnt it??

i have posted this on MUKAMO FORUM few months ago and i will posting this again.. enjoy..
because oscar de la hoya retired... let us see his career highlights and lowlights..
-he was born february 4, 1973.. a second generation mexican immigrant... born as american citizen, grew up in East Los Angeles.. a highly impoverished hispanic region in California..
-has an amateur career of 223-6 (163 KOs).. won an olympic gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics..
-KO'd his first 5 opponents.. beat Jimmi Bredahl for the WBO super featherweight title (TKO 10)
-defended the title once and fought Jorge Paez for the vacant WBO lightweight title (KO 2).. criticized for fighting "hand-picked" opponents.. defended the title twice and fought Rafael Ruelas for WBO-IBF 140lbs unification bout.. (TKO 2) but immediately striiped off his IBF title because of refusal to fight his number contender.. went on to defend his WBO lightweight title twice (..includes a fight against James Leija whom he TKO'd in the 2nd round to cement his reputation as a great boxer)
-fought the legendary (but washed up and old) Julio Cesar Chavez for the WBC Light Welterweight Title (TKO 4)... and became a legit star.. defended the title once and moved up another weight class...
-fought another legendary boxer.. the much respected Pernell Whitaker for the WBC welterweight title.. although Whitaker was in his prime when they fought, Whitaker was defeated via an unconvincing and very controversial Split Decision.. Critics said Oscar De La HOya wasnt even close to warrant a draw much more to win this fight.. he became a 4-division champ by this win..
-defended his title once before fighting another Mexican legend (but also old and washed up) Hector Camacho.. winning by unanimous decision.. Hector Camacho said Oscar was great but when the fight happen two years earlier, he might knock Oscar out.. went on to defend his title twice..
-defended his welterweight title against Julio Cesar Chavez he defeated the mexican legend once again making him the only fighter to beat Chavez twice.. he defeated the very durable and powerful ike quartey in oscar's arguably best night...
-lost against felix trinidad in an IBF-WBC welterweight unification bout.. oscar won most of the early and middle rounds and it seems that he was outboxing felix trinidad when he changed his gameplan and avoided engaging felix trinidad for the late rounds.. surprisingly, felix trinidad won a majority decision (1 card-draw, 2 cards-trinidad) in a highly disputed fight.. bob arum (de la hoya's promoter back then) wanted an investigation against don king (trinidad's promoter)... the two hall of fame promoters revived their 40 year feud against each other... the two promoters rarely collaborated with each other after that fought.. (that is the reason why manny pacquiao has virtually no chance in fighting juan diaz, nate campbell and joan guzman for they are under don king promotions and pacquiao is under top rank.. sigh, the politics of boxing!!)
-became an interim WBC welterweight champ when he beat Oba Carr.. became a full time champ when Trinidad relinquished his wbc title..
-beaten by shane mosley in a very controversial fight.. lost interest in boxing... ventured into entertainment industry... recorded an album, made cameo appearance oin tv shows... returned to boxing after 9 months to fight the hearty arturo "the Thunder" gatti... oscar de la hoya won the fight via tko in 5 rounds..
-fought and beaten javier castillejo for the WBC super welterweight title.. Oscar moved up in weight yet again... he won the title, making him a 5-division champ..
-fought the unified WBA light middleweight (super welterweight) champ Fernando Vargas.. De La Hoya successfullly unified the title in what was considered to be one of oscar's best fight in years... fought anothe mexican boxing legend... against another washed up contender.. the popular Yori Boy Campas.. Oscar won by TKO in 5 rounds..
-lost to Shane Mosley in a very controversial manner.. lost his unified super welterweight belt... (shane mosley was later defeated by winky wright, who held the WBC-IBF-WBA-WBO and the ring championship honors simultaneously once)
-moved up in weight again to fight a then-unknown but very talented Felix Sturm for the WBO middleweight title.. Sturm shook, outboxed, outpointed and dazzled the confused De La Hoya.. larry merchant said that Sturm looked like he enjoyed every minute of the fight... but sturm mysteriously lost by a unanimous decision.. most of the people in the crowd booed the result.. sturm put the fight: "they robbed me of a clear victory because oscar has a bigger name than i am.." many boxer observers thought that the judges let oscar win because there was a talk of a Oscar-hopkins fight.. hndi matutuloy ang laban kung matatalo si oscar kay sturm.. Despite the controversy, oscar became a 6-division champion..
-fought the unified WBC-WBA-IBF middleweight champ Bernard Hopkins in what many observers thought as a mismatch because Hopkins was a lot bigger than De La Hoya (much like what they thought of Oscar-Manny fight.. Bernard soon campaigned in lightheavyweight division).. All four titles (Oscar's WBO and Hopkin's WBA-WBC-IBF) title were on the line plus the ring magazine recognition.. Oscar said in the interview that there is no way that a 40 year old boxer would defeat him but he suffered his first knockout loss against Hopkins via a left hook to the body in the 9th round..
-after the defeat, never fought for almost a year... ricardo mayorga, then WBC super welterweight champ called de la hoya out.. calling him a sissy and berating oscar's family... Oscar scored a knockdown in the first round and knocked mayorga out in round 6... oscar later called mayorga as "nothing but a clown".. he became a 10-time world champion cementing his place in boxing history books and will be a slam-dunk hall of famer the first time he will be eligible for the HOF election..
-he lost against Floyd Mayweather Jr.. it seems that oscar was winning in the first rounds but opted to avoid an engagement in the late rounds to lose a split decision... he was the first boxer to win in a scorecard againsr floyd mayweather... the fight confirmed the much discussed "de la hoya stamina"... he lost
-fought steve forbes in a "homecoming fight" winning a unanimous decision against Steve... but it seems that oscar was very sluggish and declined big time in the fight...
-fought Manny Pacquiao in a "mismatch".. he lost via RTD 8.. he became the first former middleweight champ (160 lbs) to be beaten by a former super flyweight champion (115 lbs).. Manny Pacquiao was the 2nd fighter to knock him out...
there you have it.. the golden boy's career... Bye Golden Boy... You may be great but your time has come... He is the only one to be a 6-division, 10 time world champ in the world as he fought the best so bye golden boy.. stay retired..

Ganun ba? Ok.
Kaya win or lose in this fight, will not affect his decision regarding retirement. He may lose this fight and win the succeeding fights. Pero kung ipapanalangin mo na matalo laht yung mga huling laban ni Pacman, sa palagay lalo lang mgiging firm decision nya na magretire. So, instead, pray that he may continue his streak, para lalo pa sya ganahan na magboxing. Also, win or lose in this fight will not impact much on his wealth. I believe, guaranteed na ang kaniyang prize/share, win or lose.
Sana manalo rin si Gerry Peñalosa kontra Juan Manuel Lopez (or at least makasurvive from KO).

yeah you are right.. im thinking of this gameplan for manny, he shoots his left hook to the body early on.. in-out, in-out. mabilis sya he can do it againsta hatton, then work on the head sa mga latter rounds.. hndi sya pwdeng mkipagsabayan kay hatton dhil more likely 155+lbs un come fight night.. at naturally mas malakas ang suntok ni hatton kesa s knya pero in boxing hndi lakas ang lahat, hatton only comes forward to work on the boxdy and he hugs a lot... it will get dirty if pacquiao fights hatton's fight.. and last i heard its what roach will do, make pac counter a lot and do lateral movements a lot to make hatton out of balance...
juan manuel lopez will fight the classy gerry penalosa, any thoghts on this??

Siempre, ung ring magazine belt nga eh pag napanalunan mo ay considered great ka na.
But Ring & IBO titles is not a world title and that's my point. Nung talunin nga nia si De la Hoya di ba eh parang considered na siyang champion? He will set a new world record for sure if he beat Hatton.

yeah.. gerry is underrated even by filipinos.. the truth is, ung ring magazine, mataas ang tingin s knya.. he is more technically sound than pacquiao but he is not as popular.. why? he lost a couple of controversial fights sa japan (na alam nman nting mhrap manalo ang outsiders by decision) and he retired briefly.. juanma on the other hand is up and coming..

i admire what gerry penalosa had shown on the ring yesterday. coach freddie was ready to give up after the eighth round but he asked for one more round.
he was determined to finish off juanma. but juanma lopez simply overpowered him. though he never
managed to knock down gerry to the canvass. gerry's incredibly one tough man.
on the other boxing news:
rodel mayol gets his chance to join nonito donaire, jr. and brian viloria in
the ranks of world champions as he vies for the wbo light flyweight crown of
unbeaten puerto rican ivan calderon.
according to fightnews.com, the 27-year-old mayol (25-3-0, 19 KOs) is penciled
to challenge calderon (32-0-0, 6KOs) on june 13 in the undercard of the superfight
between miguel cotto and joshua clottey at the madison square garden.
this will be the third crack at the world crown for the LA-based cebuano fighter,
who lost a 12-round decision to former wbc minimumweight king eagle den junlaphan
in 2006 and got knocked out in eight by ex-ibf 108-lb holder ulises solis in 2007.
for his part, “iron boy" calderon will be making the fourth defense of the title he won in
2007 when he bucked an eighth round knockdown to beat hugo fidel cazares.
the 34-year-old calderon is 15-0 in world title fights, counting his days as long-time
wbo minimumweight king.

rodel mayol has fought ulises solis. mayol was winning the fight when he got tagged by a 2-punch combination of solis and got KOd in the 8th round. he's loss was said to be due to lack of preparation/short fight notice.

i hope manny could use his speed against hatton. they're both brawlers so its important that manny uses his speed. i'm just worried that once manny gets tagged, he will engage hatton to a brawl which would benefit the latter. it would be difficult to predict because the outcome will depend on who will land the haymaker. as i've mentioned, manny's speed will be decisive.

its july 18 irvin....
floyd is back on retirement to reclaim his "pound for pound" title...
marquez is giving it all to fight manny once more...
sulit ito pag nagkataon...parehong gigil ang dalawa ke manny...although wala pang formal announcement pero catchy yung weight division na paglalabanan nila... welterweight or limit of 143/144 lbs. too close sa nilaro ni manny ngayon na 140 lbs.
iharap na lang kaya natin ke batista???
yeah thank you i stand corrected.. its on july 18.. kya prang nagtataka ako, the fight was officially announced the day manny fought hatton.. alam nyo nman si mayweather greedy sa publicity kya sa laban ni hatton at pacquiao inannounce.. actually bro.. its not welterweight.. welterweight's limit is 147.. it is within welterweight but not quite.. ksi the limit is 144 so its actually a catchweight.. ksi marquez's camp is worried na bka 147 is asking too much for marquez and the junior welterweight (or superlightweight) limit of 140 is too much for floyd.. i wanted marquez to win this fight simply because he doesnt deserve to lose against pac sa dalawang laban nila.. so when they meet again, i think manny will pummel him and marquez wil have slimmer chance against manny this time around.. but his chances against floyd is so slim because he is smaller at floyd has a faster feet and footwork than manny so that will present him prblems considering na marquez has problems with fast opponents (manny pacquiao, juan Diaz, chris john).. at defensive type si floyd at sya nman ay counter puncher so its not good for jmm's style ang defensive fighter mas okay sa style nya ang attacker pra maka-counter sya (which explains why he is effective against pacquiao even though he is having difficulty sa speed ni pac).. i think with a counter puncher and a defensive fighter, this wont be exciting as it should be.. (i think).. floyd may win but he may duck pac.. and come up with excuses..

Floyd Mayweather Jr. might have the best reflex in boxing, faster than shane mosley and manny pacquiao, stronger too but he doesnt have the heart of manny pacquiao who will fight anyone regardless of weight.. here is why:
he handpicks opponent.. he fights those who presents low-risk, high reward fighters..
he was a genuinely good fighter at 130 although he never fought acelino freitas or joel casamayor , those were the two live guys that represented a real threat , he stayed far away from them . He did beat jesus chavez who is solid , genenaro hernandez was shot that fight meant nothing. his best win was diego corrales who was facing a jail term prior to the fight and was also facing severe issues of making weight. Alas floyd picks the most beatable of the 3 beltholders , a guy who had a big punch but was slow and has questionable defense.
at 135 again if he stayed there longer he could have been a good champion , to his credit he fought the best at that weight jose luis castillo , he was thoroughly outworked and beaten in that fight and got a gift descision . He did the right thing and rematched , i remember the second fight and i did'nt think he did that well JLC still landed the harder punches , floyd ran all night and through light punches nonetheless i give him credit for a close win. Never beat another LW of signifigance. he also had a fight with victoriano sosa whom he should have dismantled but settled for a close points win.
at 140 here is were things really get bad , poor arturo gatti at this stage in his career was an absolute slug and again was facing weight draining issues floyd has a radar for dehydration and fading sklls he can smell them. Also beat henry brussels a telemundo fighter no one heard of and pilip ndou a guy not in the top ten. His only quality win in this division was chop chop corely , whom he performed well against.
at 147 zab judah allthough talented was coming off of a loss and has to this day certain wekanesses such as lack of focus after 4-5 rounds . The 4-5 first rounds where zab actually showed up and though punches he won in fact he made floyd look bad and it looked like we were seeing floyd in with a live dog for once, but again zab has this mental breakdown after about 5 rounds where he stops fighting at all and falls apart mentally. Ffloyd also beats a completely shot sharmbe mitchell
and wins the linear title from the slow and plodding carlos baldomir one of the most beatable WW champs in the history of the division.
at 154 in what i think is his most impressive win he beat oscar de la hoya , ODLH was the bigger guy so he was at a size disadvantage , but oscar does not have it anymore , he is not the fighter he once was , the version of him that fought trinidad or or whitaker , or vargas or even the 135lbs version of oscar , i would have picked him to beat floyd , oscar only brought about 5 full rounds worth of energy into a 12 round fight that is all he had in the tank to disperse through the fight and that is why he lost. floyd handpicked the richest price in boxing an old oscar de la hoya.
the ducked list
joel casamayor had tremendous skills and amateur pedigree , a rough dirty fighter and a southpaw with equal speed to floyd.
joel very well could have beaten floyd but his management would never sign this fight. but recently joel casamayor appeared to be on a decline.. he is now old.. and should have lost against jose armando santa cruz..
acelino freitas in his prime was very dangerous and explosive , he was an energy fighter that could dominate fighters with his athleticism and power sort of like mike tyson , however once he got a little tired he became less and less dangerous as the rounds went on he was a bit of a front runner. Floyd has great defense that would help him alot in this fight , but freitas was dangerous , it was a pick em fight. Floyd fought deigo C instead who was just as hard a hitter but was more stationary and predictable and better suited to his style . Acelino was ducked.
shane mosely at any weight class was ducked , floyd once said that he would fight mosely as a tune up fight for ODLH , this fight never materialized @135 or 147 , SHane would beat him at any weight . bank on it.
at 140
i like that he is now fighting ricky hatton the real champ at 140, he should have fought him 2-3 years ago though , hatton seemed much more dangerous and hungry then . nonetheless a step in the right direction. Kostya tszyu in his prime would had floyds number and beaten him soundly , floyd used to threaten that he would go up in weight and beat him , but he waited till tsyzu was beaten before moving up , and then he avoided the guy that beat him for 3 years.
i think if manny fight floyd it will be defense vs offense (floyd is a defensive specialist while manny is a volume puncher), speed vs speed (manny's handspeed vs floyd's footwork),,
i think roach will come up with a strategy on dealing with floyd.. may strategy na sya noon nung labanan ni oscar delahoya si floyd at si roach ang trainer nya pero bgla n lang nag-iba ng gameplan si delahoya nung later rounds kya natalo si dela hoya pero we know he is effective (sya lang ang nkalaban ni floyd na nanalo ng isang scorecard)..
i think manny's offense will do it and he may win a split decision..

hindi nakaporma yung maiingay na briton sa laban nya.....
at sana mapatahimik rin nya yung mga mehikano at amerikanong fans nina marquez at mayweather....

i think he is better than most of the guys in there except of course for:
1. Thomas Hearns
2. Pernell Whitaker
3. Sugar Ray Leonard
4. ROberto Duran
5. Roy Jones Jr.
6. Floyd Mayweather Jr..
because he may be equal or lesser to them..
pero i can see him as one of the greatest of all time.. maybe as good as Roberto Duran for longevity, Roy Jones Jr for fighting up and down in weight, but some is greater or lesser in one thing and another (manny doesnt have the defense fo pernell whitaker but pernel doesnt have the volume punching of pac or he may not have the skills of Roy jones jr but he is willing to work it out anytime).. so i strongly believe that manny might be considered to be in the top 30 fighters of all time.. but im just a boxing fan, so my opinion doesnt matter so much..

Magandang exit yun sa kanya, 40-0 and the last victim, One of the best boxer in the world.

Freddie Roach wants Cotto and Mosley on 140 lbs. Tama ba yun?
Team Paquiao will scout on Cotto/Clottey fight on June 13. On my opinion, Cotto will have a hard time defeating Joshua Clottey. You know, Clottey has a great defense and a hard chin, so knocking him out will be a hard task. I'd like to see Clottey fight Pacman but Cotto/Pac lineup is also interesting so either of them will be interesting.

ok lang kay pac un.. its about time sya nman ang mag-set ng terms.. and i dont think may dapat pang patunayan si pacquiao.. he is hands down, GREAT.. he beat the guy who beat naseem hamed on featherweight (marco antonio barrera).. he beat hatton who beat Kostya tszyu who, along with roy jones jr and pernell whitaker, was regarded as the best non-heavyweight boxer in the 90's.. he comes up in weight doing amazing things.. cotto may present trouble for him because cotto is stronger pero his advantage his advantage will be the handspeed.. shane will present trouble for him because shane may have the handspeed on par with pacquiao.. clottey-pac might not happen because clottey is too big for pacquiao and i dont think clottey will win against cotto pero i know cotto will have a hard time with clottey.. clottey is good, he is hard working.. i think its best if manny fight the defensive genius in mayweather.. it will be defense vs offense, speed vs speed..

Kostya Tszyu was already past his prime when Hatton beat him. Remember Hatton has more impressive victory over Jose Luis Castillo then Mayweather but Floyd knocks Hatton beat him. Kung titignan talaga, mas impressive ang mga laban ni Pacman kay Mayweather. But that doesn't mean na mas magaling na nga siya kay Floyd. We will only find out when they collide. The winner deserves the spot in top 10 on the G.O.A.T.s

Dawson won by UD. (Not Surprised)
Dawson is hoping a match with Calzaghe. Pero sa tingin ko, malabo yun kc di pa siya 40 yrs old.. Kung si Froch nga di mapalabas si Calzaghe after his fight against Taylor, siya pa kaya? Winky Wright suffered a punishment against Paul Williams. By looking at his face, talagang lamog siya parang nung nangyari sa laban nila Juanma/Gerry. I guess he should stop fighting journeyman like Tarver and Johnson and start fighting ATG like Carl Froch, Paul Williams. I think he should unify the WBC belt with Adrian Dioconu. B-Hop also mentions having a match with Dawson, pero sinabi niyang wala raw itong fanbase.

Don't blame Floyd coz he has Pride as the P4P king too so he wants a 60-40 cut on his fight on Pac. If there was someone to blame, that's Bob Arum. This old fart is greedy coz he wants a bigger cut for his boxers and doesn't want to match any of his boxers against Floyd. He don't want Pac/Floyd to happen so he announce that Cotto will be Pac's opponent later this year. Well yeah, Floyd a coward dick but I also heard that he agrees to fight Cotto or Mosley don't know kung reliable ang source na yun though.

hmm. As most people said, this fight will be a clash of styles: a counter-puncher vs. defensive boxer. There is a possibility na maging boring ang laban na ito dahil baka magkapaan lang ang dalawa at walang sumugod. So this will be a chess match for short. But I dont think it will become that boring. IF you've watched the fight between Winky Wright and Bernard Hopkins, baka maging ganun ang laban. There may be no knockdowns but an exchange of blows could make this fight exciting.

If PBF wants to show that he is still the man, then he got to be aggressive to impress the fans. Kung ako si Floyd, I will use my speed to outbox JMM and be less defensive just for this fight.

it's not a problem kung mabilis naman siya. Watch Mosley's fight with Margarito. Margarito is much bigger + plaster of paris yet he beats the hell out of him. Mosley is only 5'9 so there's only 3 inch diffenrence or do you want Mosley & Cotto to take the risk at 140 and get dehydrated so Pac could take the credit for beating washed up boxers. I want Manny to fight the best not overrated bums. That applies for Mayweather too.

i agree to you.. i do not want manny to fight weight drained over the hill fighters pero i think while mosley is slower than pac (he is definitely faster the the sluggish margarito) he is absolutely stronger and unlike hatton, he has a chin as hard as a granite.. he was never beaten by a knockout and never knocked down yet.. his onle losses was against vernon forrest(2), winky wright(2) and miguel cotto once.. and he received tremendous blows from as high as middleweighters yet he was never down.. mosley is too big and too strong for pac.. pero kung lalaban si mosley ng below 145, no-win situation na naman kay pacquiao un, i mean they will say mosley was not himself, weightdrained etcetera..
i want jmm or floyd to fight pacquiao.. considering floyd is faster than pacquiao and pacquiao is almost as fast as mayweather.. it will be a damn fight for them.. pacquiao never fought fighter as fast as mayweather.. while mayweather havent fought a fighter than can catch up with his speed.. not to mention their contrasting styles.. mayweather is a defensive boxer who uses his speed and guard (a younger pernell whitaker) to evade punches while pacquiao is an offensive fighter who uses his speed to snap combinations after combination (a smaller muhamad ali)... at kasama na din dun ung tanong kung sino ang most accomplished fighter in this decade..

In my opinion, Mosley's resume is better than Pac's. Why? Just look who did he face. Mayorga, Vargas, Forrest, De La Hoya(Prime), Wright. Even if he has 5 loses, its a very legimate loss coz all the fighter he lost was great fighters. I think it's bigger names than Pacman ever faced.

i dont think so.. pero this decade is pacquiao, mayweather and hopkins' decade..
shane's record is phenomenal.. he lost only to 5 great boxers.. at hndi sya takot kumuha ng risky fights.. that makes him great.. and to include, he is the only one to deafeat dela hoya twice.. pero..
pacquiao, hopkins and mayweather's resume is among the best today... pacquiao fought the trio of great mexican boxers.. fought risky fight with the golden boy.. fought ricky hatton at his prime.. hatton by the way defeated kostya tszyu, one of the greatest boxers nung 90s, and barrera won against naseem hamed a great and lineal champion..
hopkins on the other hand fought everyone.. had a devastating twin loss against jermaine taylor but bounced back and fought antonio tarver, dominating the younger (but still old) boxer.. fought kelly pavlik with stunning result pero natalo kay joe calzaghe..
and floyd.. fought the best in the lightweight division (except casamayor), fought the best in the super featherweight(jesus chavez, carlos hernandez and sso on) was named the 2nd best super featherweight of all time, fought future hall of famers jose luis castillio, diego corrales, arturo gatti and so on.. pero hindi nya nilabanan si kostya tszyu.. nung naging welterweight na sya, ang pinaka maganda nyang panalo was against ricky hatton, carlos baldomir, zab judah and sharmba mitchell hindi nya nilabanan si cotto, mosley, margarito, vernon forrest.. went up to super welterweight(junior middleweight) fought de la hoya at first time natalo sya ng isang scorecard.. ayun.. so i say mosley's record is solid but not as great as the three of them..

i dont think pacman's camp will ever consider fighting joshua clottey kung mananalo si clottey kay cotto..
kasi clottey is too big for pacquiao.. pero syempre kung si pacquiao ang tatanungin, willing syang labanan si clottey pero ewan lang natin kung ico-consider un ng kampo ni pacman lalo na ni bob arum..
kasi clottey offers a low reward, high risk bout.. he is not a big money fighter pero he has the skills to step up.. wala yatang big name na lumaban sa kanya except for diego corrales(who is a lightweight who fought him as welterweight), zab judah(impressive victory against zab) and antonio margarito.. kaya its good na lalabanan sya ni cotto.. a good break para lumaki pa ang pangalan ni clottey.. i want clottey to win para si floyd ang labanan ni pacquiao at wag na nya i-consider si cotto..

ill tell you why clottey can win against cotto..
clottey is more defensive than cotto.. not to mention that he has a pop in his fist at may stamina pa sya to go 12 rounds.. he beat the much faster zab judah by way of activity coming in the late rounds, as you know, zab judah always starts with a bang then always break down sa late rounds.. so yeah i think that will be the key.. and not to mention cotto's stamina has always been suspected.. he is winning against margarito when he suddenly looked tired at tumatanggap na sya ng mga suntok ni margarito resulting to a knockout(siguro may plaster si margarito nun)..

iron boy ivan calderon doesnt have a high KO percentage simply because he is a defensive fighter..

yeah i very well agree.. i believe you are a hardcore fan of boxing kasi like me, hindi lang suntukan ang pinapanood mo sa boxing kundi pati ung mga style on fights na pinapakita nila ang tinitignan mo.. you became electrified when a defensive fighter toys with his opponent.. at the same time when a brawler roughs up his opponent.. thats good.. really.. thats nice.. what i mean by not so fun to watch is pag casual fans ang nanonood, they became turned off pag mabagal ang takbo ng laban.. (im talking about tarver-dawson I, hopkins-wright fight where theres just too many faking and too many waiting).. pero a strategy fight is part of the fun ng boxing..

froch didnt perform well against a rusty looking jermaine taylor.. his win is sensational but his game isnt..
ang tanong lang dyan if ever froch fights b-hop is kug hanggang kailan kayang magperform ni b-hop nang mataas na level katulad ng ginawa nya kay kelly pavlik.. i think if ever there is something left in bernard hopkins he will indeed school carl froch..
gus2 ko nga din si joe calzaghe lumabas sa retirement at gulphin nya si carl froch eh pero lets face it, cal froch is not a worthy opponent as of this time.. as good as he is pero wala pa sya masyadong napatunayan to warrant a bout with a retired joe calzaghe..

So does Calzaghe. At least he can earn much money by fighting B-Hop. I think he only have a small chance of winning but his defeat can improve him or destroy his career. The only fair fight is see for him is Lucian Bute. At least, he has a higher chance of winning against him.

malignaggi and juan diaz will likely to fight in houston.. malignagii no doubt is the more technically sound of the two pero nung huling laban nya kay hatton, parang lumabas ang kahinaan nya.. that is you can easily muscle him, rough him up kasi you have nothing to worry about a good punch landing in dahil hindi naman known for power si malignaggi (only 5 KOs and all of those technical).. i think juan diaz while not as powerful as ricky hatton can rough him up too..

clottey with his defense, chin, better stamina may win.. pero i think cotto has all the edge.. he is faster and has better footwork.. still, i want clottey to win.. pero mukhang 30% chance lang ang meron sya.. clottey is an underdog here but he has what it takes to win.. pag nanalo si clottey, bob arum wont consider clottey as an opponent pero if cotto wins, it is likely that he will pit cotto and pacquiao together so the reality of a pac-floyd fight will be down the drain..
clottey's key to winning is his defense, it is better than cotto..
another thing is clottey's stamina, he will take advantage if cotto wore down in the late rounds (as we've seen vs margarito and few other fights)..
cotto on the other hand has better skills and a good starter..

As expected, very exciting ang naging laban nila Clottey at Cotto. Ang ganda ng palitan parang seesaw. But Cotto make an advantage when he knocked Clottey in the first round. In the late round, Clottey was accidentally pushed in the canvas and badly hurt but still able to fight. Cotto was playing defensively to avoid Clottey's right. It was a close fight but Cotto wins by Unanimous Decision.

i would not like to see a fight between roy jones jr. and jeff lacy.. both are waaay off their prime..
glenn johnson fought a good fight against chad the last time they fight so i think it will be a good fight but i expect chad to win..
bernard hopkins and carl froch makes sense but a fight between froch and pavlik may do the job.. b-hop if he ever fights froch should retire win or lose.. nothing to prove.. he is among the greatest fighters na naabutan ko.. along with roy jones jr, pernell whitaker, marco antonio barrera, felix trinidad..
i watched the replay of cotto-clottey fight and after watching it the second time, im all the more convinced that clottey wins it.. he has more punches landed.. his power punching landed more than cotto.. ung unang round, kahit may knockdown ay dapat 10-9 round pa rin kasi it is all clottey when suddenly he was knocked down.. clottey deserves a rematch..
cotto's footwork is amazing.. he is like dancing on the floor.. he moves well.. he took the punches well.. i may want to see him against pacquiao.. pero cotto is big..
totoo kayang may injury si mayweather?? i dont know.. they say the fight didnt sell as much as they thought so it may be a strategy to buy more time to sell tickets.. (sabi nila the fight was postponed.. not called off yet so we may see it..

You are wrong and a Pac hater!!! Dont you know that Pacman is the best southpaw because he feeds the poor, religious, doesnt talk shit and lastly his daddy ate his dog.

the only legend in the near yesteryear (90's, 80's) whom it hink is NOT better than pacquiao is julio cesar chaves sr.. make no mistake, i think he is great but i think he doesnt do enough to win against kostya tszyu and i dont think he deserves the draw against pernell whitaker..
if julio cesar chavez fights today and in his prime i think he will be a tough mtchup to pacquiao.. a tough but a winnable foe for pacquiao..

How the father talented is what the son is lacking. I think he was already ou of his prime when he fought Tsyuzu just like how he was beaten by the prime De La Hoya or even worse. Boxing today is more Money than competition. They rarely matchup great fighters with another one. Even if they did, they will put it on PPV. Kung walang internet, di ko cguro mapapanood ang mga na-miss kong laban.

i agree... julio cesar chaves lost to oscar de la hoya, kostya tszyu, pernell whitaker (given a gift draw decision), frankie randall.. pero its good kasi he fought the best boxing has to offer..
hector camacho, frankie randall, big k, sweet pea whitaker, golden boy, joey gamache.. he fought them all.. lost some, win some..
he and along with those men didnt back down with their opponent...
i remember nigel benn was offered a 90-10 split in favor of him by roy jones jr.. just to determine who is then the best middleweight, nigel benn turned the fight down kasi akala nya mas magaling ang gus2 nya kalabanin only to be dissapointed.. they dont care about the money.. all they want is a better legacy.. a place in history..

Arum cites reasons on Pacquiao vs Cotto over Mosley
Top Rank Promotions chief Bob Arum thinks it’s much more practical for Manny Pacquiao to pick Miguel Cotto over Shane Mosley.
And here is why.
“Manny Pacquiao has saw for himself how immensely popular Miguel Cotto is,” said Arum in an interview over dzSR’s Sports Chat with Dennis Principe.
“Miguel has always done extremely well on pay per view… Cotto brings more to the table than Mosley,” he added.
Arum said that just like Filipinos, there are many Puerto Ricans in the US, all of whom will be rooting for their champion.
This, he said, is Cotto’s edge over Mosley.
“Miguel brings millions of Puerto Rican fans... those people will be coming for the fight and buy pay per view,” said Arum, who promoted some of boxing’s most historical matches.
Arum added that Cotto is more likely to agree to a smaller split compared to Mosley, who has offered a 40-60 revenue share favoring Pacquiao just to get the Filipino to fight him.
“Cotto has a smaller split than Mosley and Manny can just fight one fighter at a time. Down the road to next year there can always be a Mosley and [Floyd] Mayweather Jr.,” said the Top Rank chief.
Mosley earlier accused Arum of blocking his way to prevent Pacquiao from fighting him.
“Bob Arum is being the puppet master putting this together, but Manny will make more money fighting me,” said Mosley.

sturm became popular when he beat oscar de la hoya.. (de la hoya won by gift).. sturm now might be in the end of his days..
pavlik wont fight either abraham and sturm.. the two person in the middleweight who can provide tremendous challenge for him...

His resume is still better than Calzaghe's. Calzaghe's biggest fights are past prime fighters and Mikkel Kessler who is untested with good fighter. I cant give credit to a fighter who only beat old fighters then retires. But I give Hatton a credit coz he try to fight the best. It's better to lose in a competitive way than being undefeated with only fighting unknown fighters.

I think Im starting to respect Carl Froch. He has more courage to fight in America than Kessler and Calzaghe. Just recently, Jean Pascal whom he beat has beaten Adrian Diaconu entertainingly. Kessler sent out an open letter to the media to explain that he's begging for a big fight at super middleweight or a catch weight:
I went from Denmark to America THREE TIMES in 2008 trying to drum up a big fight. I attended the Kelly Pavlik-Jermain Taylor rematch, the Bernard Hopkins-Joe Calzaghe fight and the Roy Jones-Calzaghe bout. I enjoy both Las Vegas and New York but those were business trips. My dream is to fight big fights in the United States against the best of the best. Bernard Hopkins. Joe Calzaghe. Winky Wright. Jermain Taylor. Kelly Pavlik.
Six great fighters, no doubt. And, starting with ring legend Hopkins, six fighters who all refused to seriously discuss fighting me this past year. I respect all of them as boxers and as great competitors but, for some reason, I can’t get any of them to fight me. Now I know some people say I’ve been hiding in and not fighting the big names. That’s not fair and that’s not true. I regained my WBA title, which is important to me, against unbeaten Dimitri Sartison and then fought a required mandatory against Danillo Haussler. I didn’t make Haussler the mandatory challenger but I did cut him down in three rounds.
Naturally, I am extremely frustrated as I seek bigger game. I am hoping that 2009 will be different, that I will be able to match my skills in against the likes of the Big Six. I’m not here to call anyone names or issue childish insults. That’s not the Viking Warrior’s style, people know that. But Hopkins says he doesn’t want to hear my name although I’d gladly fight him at 168 pounds for my title or at a catch weight. Calzaghe beat me on points in an excellent fight and has been consistent in saying he will never give me a second chance. He’s a great one but I wish he’d change his mind. He said he never gives rematches yet he gave one to Mario Veit. It was Joe who suggested I fight Hopkins. I agree but Bernard doesn't like the idea. Unbeaten Dawson is young and unbeaten. I would fight him at super middleweight or at a catch weight but he and/or his handlers are not interested. As for Winky, I’ve been hearing his name all year, from January to December, but it’s clear he also wants no part of me. Taylor will never fight me according to his guy, Lou DiBella. I’ve given up on getting Jermain in the ring. Though he lost to Hopkins, Pavlik is still an excellent, rugged champion. He calls me a real beast and I say the same about him. That’s a bout I would really get excited about but it seems unlikely.
I’m not a guy to shout from the rooftops but everything I’ve said here is factual. I just hope I can fill up my 2009 dance card with some or any of these reluctant but great warriors as listed above. Thanks again to all the fans, in Denmark and elsewhere, who give me such great support. Know that I appreciate it greatly!
you can see the letter through thesweetscience.com and many other sites.. boxing is dying in the us because they think americans has the sole right to be noticed.. when one fighter doesnt fight in the us, they say he is not good enough etc.. it aint true.. and this gu is calling out fighters and nobody wants him.. jermaine taylor won against b-hop twice and almost beaten kelly pavlik,.. kessler and taylor should fight instead of taylor fighting no-namers in arkansas..

It's not that you have to be american to be noticed. My point is you have to go to america to establish names. There are many legends that are not american.
Our own legends like Pancho Villa, Flash Elorde and even Manny Paquiao went to America just to build their career. They started fighting nobodies until they gain attention. Kessler should have done the same thing. Of course he wont get big fights until he sweep his division. Hopkins was fighting nobodies after he became the middleweight champion. It took almost eight years to get big fights. Boxer's usually get attention if they have impressive wins especially in the U.S.
Prospect names like Victor Ortiz, Danny Jacobs, James Kirkland is starting to get noisy even if they have fought nobodies. If you beat someone like them, I guess you can build a momentum. On the other hand, you get negative comments. People will say that you beat an overrated bum. But you have to start with that. Start picking B-Class fighters and above and with effort luckily, you will get a big fight.

juan manuel lopez is not so impressive against lontchi..
lontchi annoyed him in many moments of the fight.. he countered effectively too bad lontchi is not as good as him in taking shots and not as powerful.. and as their fight went on, the more lontchi became on the defensive whch is not so good considering he is not as fast..
marami pa kulang kay juanma.. he can (notice the word i used here) be beaten at this point by israel vasquez who can be as aggressive or rafael marquez who even though he doesnt have a good chin (above average pero not as elite as his level) is the most skillfull among them..

i think at this point lamang si caballero pero give the kid the time and im sure his skills will be on par with his power..
right now he swings wide (not so wide but still prone to counterpunches).. and he punches a lot of powershots which is not so smart..
also i wanna take note about the fight of pavlik and sturm it will not happen after all because HBO doesnt want the fight so dearly and will pay less than 2.5 million for the fight... i think it is one of the fights that fans wabted to see ever since felix sturm gave oscar de la hoya trouble and nearly won..
its a shame given that HBO is the same company na nagpalabas ng rematch nila tarver-dawson na aminin na natin na medyo boring.. and that fight is a "forced" fight given na may rematch clause sa contract nila so its not a fight everybody wanted to see but they still paid more than 3.4 million.. nakakaasar kasi ang HBO ay isa sa mga sumisira rin ng industrya ng boxing... shame on them..

Agbeko wins decision over Dachinyan, retains belt
SUNRISE, Florida — Ghana's Joseph Agbeko retained his International Boxing Federation bantamweight title with a unanimous decision over Armenian-born Australian Vic Darchinyan on Saturday.
Using solid rights to the head, which eventually opened cuts above both of Darchinyan's eyes, Agbeko spoiled Darchinyan's goal of winning his third world title in a different division.
Two judges scored the bout 114-113 for Agbeko, while the third had it for the native of Ghana, 116-111.
"I have always said I would carry the greatness of Ghana with me to the top and that's what I have done," Agbeko said. "I want to be considered among the top pound for pound fighters in the world. I think I have earned it."The bout had one disputed knockdown in the seventh round, when television replays showed Darchinyan pushed Agbeko to the canvas. But referee Tommy Kimmons ruled it a scoring punch for Darchinyan.
Agbeko (27-1) shook off the knockdown and peppered Darchinyan with repeated rights to the head the rest of the fight.
Darchinyan, a native of Armenia now living in Australia, did his best work in the middle rounds, when he scored with left hooks to the head. A former flyweight and junior-bantamweight titleholder, Darchinyan is now 32-2-1.
"I took a different tactic into the ring tonight. I went for the big punch and I lost and I can't say anything about that," Darchinyan said. "I was repeating the same mistakes and I was getting upset. It's not an excuse, I took the bad tactic and I wasn't smart enough tonight. He was the better fighter tonight."
The victory was Agbeko's second as bantamweight champion. He won the title with a seventh-round technical knockout over Luis Perez in 2007 and beat William Gonzalez on Dec. 11 in his first defense.
Earlier, former IBF cruiserweight champion Steve Cunningham won a unanimous decision over Wayne Braithwaite of Guyana.
Cunningham was the busier fighter in the 12-round cruiserweight bout, scoring repeatedly with left jabs to the head and rights to the body.
Braithwaite, also a former cruiserweight titleholder, tried cutting Cunningham's distance but only scored sporadically with short combinations to the head.
All three judges scored the fight Cunningham: 119-109, 118-110, and 117-111.
The fight was Cunningham's first since losing his title to Tomasz Adamek on Dec. 11.

Former boxing champ Gatti found dead in Brazil
RIO DE JANEIRO – Former world champion boxer Arturo Gatti was found dead in a holiday apartment in a northern Brazilian seaside resort on Saturday with wounds to his neck and head, Pernambuco state police said.
They were investigating the death of the 37-year-old Canadian, who was found by his Brazilian wife Amanda in his underwear and there was a bloodied bag handle in the flat, a police spokesman said.
"According to his wife, the couple came to spend a second honeymoon for a month and rented a flat, making an advance payment," he told Reuters by telephone. He said no arrests had been made.
Gatti arrived at Porto de Galinhas resort south of the city of Recife with his wife and year-old son on Friday.
Italian-born Gatti, nicknamed Thunder, was IBF Super featherweight champion in 1995 and WBC Super lightweight champion in 2004. He retired in 2007.

yeah i think.. he can bring with him his mobility but can he bring the power?
and we should not forget na he is slower than the desert storm..
robbie peden knocked him out back when he was still a super featherweight.. (i backed it up sa youtube kasi nakakatawa ang labang iyon..)
yeah, robbie peden has a popping power but superlightweight (junior welterweight) boxers pack much more power.. what if timothy bradley rushes in? and caught him with a good shot?

I dont think Campbell has a glass chin. He may be knocked out by big pops but Bradley is not that type. If Bradley wins, surely it's a decision.

Once again, Shane Mosley is offering a 60/40 split on Pacman. This time he is willing to go at 140
SHANE MOSLEY: "I'M GOING TO 140; I WANT TO FIGHT PACQUIAO FOR HIS BELT"
By Ben Thompson | July 17, 2009
"I'm going down to 140 and I want to fight Pacquiao for his belt because that's a belt I had never won. I have never won the jr. welterweight belt before. Also, at the same time, I can pick up the pound-for-pound belt. I believe I can make the weight so let's do it! There should be no 143, 141, 142 or all this other stuff. I'm going to 140 and fighting at his weight...I'm ready to make the sacrifice once again to get down to 140 or whatever it is. I used to make a big sacrifice to get to lightweight. I know how to make the weight. I know how to get down there and get to the weight and be strong so I can do it one more time to fight Pacquiao," stated welterweight champion Sugar Shane Mosley as he made it clear that he's ready to move all the way down to 140 to meet jr. welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao at his own weight in hopes of capturing the title he never got and proving that he's truly the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport. You don't want to miss what he had to say!
BT: What's going on bro? How you doing?
SM: I'm doing good, doing good!
BT: So I hear you're dropping a bombshell. You want to go down to 140?
SM: Yeah. I'm going down to 140 and I want to fight Pacquiao for his belt because that's a belt I had never won. I have never won the jr. welterweight belt before. Also, at the same time, I can pick up the pound-for-pound belt. I believe I can make the weight so let's do it! There should be no 143, 141, 142 or all this other stuff. I'm going to 140 and fighting at his weight.
BT: The last time I checked, you had told Richard that you weren't going to pursue a Pacquiao fight anymore and you were pretty much targeting anyone else in the division. What prompted the sudden change of heart?
SM: Well, I thought about my legacy and my history. I think that me being willing to fight and the only thing that stands between us is 143 or 144 and we're going back and forth and he's playing games with Cotto...well, Bob Arum is I should say...Bob Arum is at it again I heard (laughing). But they're playing games and going back and forth. I'm like, well, if I can go to 143, I might as well just go to 140 and win the belt that I never won. It makes more sense. It's a historical thing and I'm coming to reclaim what's rightfully mine!
BT: It's been a while since you fought that low in weight. You gotta go back to before the first Oscar fight. That was a whlie ago. Is their any concern at all about making the weight or, maybe not so much about making the weight, but making the weight and having to fight Manny Pacquiao for the first time at that weight?
SM: This is what I want to prove to fans. That I am the best fighter out here today. I'm pound-for-pound the best. I want the fighters, the fans and everyone to know this. So when I go down there and I beat Pacquiao at 140, the bonus for me is winning the 140-pound title. It's not just fighting Manny Pacquiao, but winning the title at 140. I skipped over 140. If I'm going to go down to 143, I might as well go down to 140 and fight him for the belt that I never got. That makes it even better. I'm excited and I'm ready to get started. I'm ready for him to say, "yes, let's go ahead and do it" and let's fight. I mean, there should be no other excuses. There should be no hold-ups for Bob Arum or nobody. I hear now that Bob Arum put out, and I never heard of this, this is the first time I'm hearing, but I'm going to fight Clottey in November and it's already a done deal? So many people are lying now. Mayweather is making up lies. Bob Arum, everybody is lying. I'm the only one stepping up to the plate willing to do something, willing to fight, willing to give the fans what they want, a great fight. I'm the only one stepping up.
BT: It seems like you are the only one stepping up because everyone else is always ducking and dodging and...
SM: (Cutting in) Everybody is ducking and dodging and trying to choose and pick and all this stuff. I'm stepping up to the plate.
BT: Honestly, I can't see how Manny Pacquiao could refuse fighting you. You're making him an offer that he just can't refuse.
SM: It's not like I'm going to try and come in there and come in overweight because I want to be like 142. It's not like I'm going to come in overweight because I want to win the belt. You have to be 140 to win the belt; to actually win the jr. welterweight title. I have to make that weight to be the champion at jr. welterweight and that's what I want.
BT: Yeah, at one point, I think even Freddie Roach said he'd be willing to have Manny fight you, but you'd have to come down to 143...
SM: (Cutting in) Now I'm going to 140!
BT: Is there anything that would make you believe they would turn that down? Like I said, that's basically an offer they can't refuse.
SM: I mean, if they turn that down, then...people should know Sugar Shane is willing to fight anybody and he's willing to do what it takes to be recognized and considered the best fighter. I want them to know that this is my era.
BT: Do you think Bob Arum is the only person holding this fight up?
SM: Yes! Bob Arum is holding it up. For him to put out a release, something crazy saying that a deal is almost made with me and Clottey is so ridiculous. I never even heard of that. This is so crazy. I never even thought about fighting...why would I fight Clottey? Well, I thought he would beat Cotto, but, I mean, if you had him losing, it was a close fight with him and Cotto. Both fights don't really make sense for Manny Pacquiao or me. Cotto don't make sense for Pacquiao. Clottey don't make sesne for me. Me and Manny Paquiao makes sense.
BT: You hadn't even heard of a potential Clottey fight?
SM: I hadn't even heard of a Clottey fight. It wasn't even mentioned to me. The fight that was mentioned to me was me and Andre Berto. That was the fight that was mentioned to me. I didn't even know Clottey was in the picture. Somebody just texted me and said, "Oh, you're fighting Clottey?" Clottey? What? I never even heard of that. That was so crazy to me. Bob Arum puts it out to the media like that because he's trying to take the heat off of Cotto not being able to make the weight. So he's trying to eliminate me by saying, "Oh, he's going to fight Clottey," so Pacquiao has to fight Cotto. He's trying to manipulate Pacquiao and Cotto once again. Lying again. Tryng to manipulate them.
BT: I know that Pacquiao's lawyer came out a couple days ago saying that they were hoping Cotto would come down to 143 and Bob Arum came out and said that it's not true and the fight was going to be at 145...
SM: (Cutting in) He can't make it! He can not make 143. He can barely make 145. He might not be able to make 145. I'm going to do them one better. I'm going to 140! I want the title at 140! I want the belt! Let's get this on and get the party started. I'm ready to make the sacrifice once again to get down to 140 or whatever it is. I used to make a big sacrifice to get to lightweight. I know how to make the weight. I know how to get down there and get to the weight and be strong so I can do it one more time to fight Pacquiao. It's a historical fight. It's for history. It's a big fight for the fans and for everybody.
BT: Again, I don't see how he could turn this down. Even with the purse split, you already said you'd be willing to give him what he wants. Now you're giving him the weight that he wants. Everything that Manny Pacquiao wants, he's getting with Sugar Shane Mosley so...
SM: (Cutting in) Well, he said we're doing it at 60/40 or whatever the purse was. I know I kind of backed off of it, but now, I'm going to be fighting for his belt. He's the champion so he's going to get more and I've got no problem with that. Let's just get this on. I'll go ahead and do my thing to Pacquiao and then I'll go get Mayweather, corner him, make him fight and then whoever else.
BT: I gotta admit, unlike a lot of fighters out there, you're one of the only ones who is truly concerned about legacy. Money's not an issue and you just want to fight the best. That's extemely hard to come by these days and I just gotta commend you for that bro. It's amazing what you've done in your career and even now, you're still willing to give in to all of the demands that Manny Pacquiao wants. If they turn this down, I'll be dumbfounded and it'll clearly be an issue of Bob Arum wanting to make the fight himself to keep all the money for himself in my opinion.
SM: Yeah, Mayweather said the same thing, even though he lies a lot. He tells a lot of lies a lot, but he knows that; that Bob Arum is just trying to keep all the money. Bob Arum wants all the money and he's lying basically to Pacquiao and Cotto...well, to Pacquiao actually because he's telling him that nobody wants to fight you and Shane won't come down...no! I'm coming down to 140!
BT: I can't even picture Sugar Shane Mosley coming down to 140. That would be an amazing feat to come down and...
SM: (Cutting in) It's historical because it's my belt that I didn't get. It was the belt that was left behind and it's the belt that I want!
BT: Well, it's the fight that the fans want. We put a poll up on our site and I think it was like 58% of the fans preferred for Manny Pacquiao to fight you over Miguel Cotto.
SM: Well, let them know that Sugar Shane is trying to make it happen.
BT: Anything else you want to say in closing Champ?
SM: Like I said, I'm fighting for my fans, I'm fighting for my legacy and I'm fighting to the best!

yeah,, so i heard na wbo's title wll be on the line... if you weigh 141 during the weigh in, then you are a welterweight.. so 145 is within the welterweight limit.. pero binawasan nila ng 2 pounds ang welterweight limit and still for the title? a catchweight championship indeed.. a total joke..

yeah i think cotto come fight night will weigh as much as 155 or so.. kasi unlike mayweather who weighs 147 sa weigh in but fight at 147 or 148, cotto needs power more than speed.. mayweather a defensive fighter as he is should weigh less to be quick..
pacquiao will be either 146 or 147 come fight night because he needs the speed more than power..

a catch weight is an agreement just between the camps of the boxers involved, just to make the fight fair for both boxers (sanctioning organization is not involved in the agreement).
also, 2 pounds is less than a kilo (0.9 kilo to be precise)...

im not sure.. pero wbo is regarded as a major title..
example, oscar dela hoya is a 10-time, 6-division champ..
2 of his division titles were at wbo.. one when he was given a gift decision against felix sturm (middleweight) and the other the wbo lightweight title from jorge paez.. so i can say it is a major title along wba, wbc and ibf..

i agree.. zab said his performance was affected by the two low blows.. and prior to that i think zab is winning..
clottey is a naturally bigger and stronger and a more defensive fighter kaya cotto doesnt look good against him.. at parang tanga pa ung referee nung intentionally binalibag sya ni cotto.. imbes na bawasan ang puntos ni cotto eh binigyan pa ng ultimatum si clottey ng 2 minutes to fight on forcing clottey to fight kahit he is still hurting..
