It should be an early decision or draw.
Congrats kay Bradley anyway.

it cant be a decision... it cant be a draw as it occured before the 4th round..
it should be a "NO CONTEST"..

Brian Viloria: Won via unanimous decision over Jesus Iribe
Brian Viloria: Won via unanimous decision over Jesus Iribe. Good thing the Honolulu-born Brian Viloria, who had Filipino parents, did not disappoint his hometown fans beating Mexican challenger Jesus Iribe in the main event of “Island Assault” Saturday (Sunday in Manila) at the Blaisdell Center, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Viloria, nicknamed “The Hawaiian Punch,” won via unanimous decision over Iribe to successfully defend his International Boxing Federation (IBF) light flyweight title for the first time.
“I just gave the fans old-fashioned boxing. I hope they all enjoyed it,” said Viloria after the match. I just gave the fans a good show, wanted them to enjoy a good boxing match against (Iribe) who is one tough guy.”
He was not yet even born when Honolulu hosted its first world title bout when Ben Villaflor of the Philippines fought Puerto Rican Samuel Serrano for the World Boxing Association to a draw on April 13, 1976.
Viloria’s win completed a sweep for the Philippines as AJ Banal and Dennis Laurente also outpointed their respective foes. He now holds to 26-2-0 (15 KOs).
Viloria, wanting a KO win, tried to bring down his opponent in the 12th round as he went toe-to-toe with Iribe, who managed to withstand the attacks of the Filipino champion, as the bell sounded to officially signal the end of the match.
His fight against Iribe was almost the same when he challenged Ulises Solis early this year where he scored an 11th round KO win to seize the IBF light flyweight crown.
Though failing to floor Iribe, Viloria chalked up enough points to complete the win against his tough Mexican foe. The fight went into scorecards with all three judges siding with Viloria: 118-110, 117-112 and 117-11.

if marquez wins and cotto wins, do you think they will fight?

Watch the Lacy fight. I dont think he slowed down but rather his legs have weakened. Jones have still the speed advantage. Kelly Pavlik is not fast as Jones. Bhop had a problem with Calzaghe coz of his speed (which I believe ineffective)

LAS VEGAS -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. returned to the ring with another emphatic victory.
Maybe next time he'll pick on somebody his own size.
Mayweather overpowered the smaller, lighter Juan Manuel Marquez for an unanimous decision Saturday night, maintaining his perfect record in his return from retirement and a 21-month ring absence.
Mayweather knocked down Marquez in the second round and then peppered him with countless damaging shots to remain unbeaten (40-0, 25 KOs).
[+] EnlargeAP Photo/Laura Rauch
Floyd Mayweather Jr. looks down at Juan Manuel Marquez after knocking him down in the second round of their welterweight match.
"Marquez is tough as nails," Mayweather said. "He's a great little man. He was really hard to fight, and he kept taking some unbelievable shots."
Marquez (50-5-1) was a 130-pounder just 18 months ago, but the Mexican champion moved up two weight classes to be Mayweather's hand-picked comeback opponent at the MGM Grand Garden. At Friday's weigh-in, he was four pounds lighter than Mayweather, who paid a $600,000 penalty for missing the bout weight of 144 pounds.
The size disparity was painfully obvious from the opening bell, but Marquez stayed on his feet for 12 one-sided rounds.
Mayweather had an astonishing edge in punch stats, landing 290 of his 493 blows (59 percent) while allowing just 12 percent of Marquez's 583 punches to land. Mayweather landed more jabs in each round than Marquez landed total punches, and just 16 percent of Marquez's power shots even got to Mayweather.
Mayweather often appeared to be toying with Marquez, who's generally considered among the world's top handful of fighters. Just 18 months ago, Marquez lost a narrow decision to Manny Pacquiao -- another mighty mite who's likely Mayweather's top choice for his next bout.
Pacquiao accepted a similarly mismatched challenge last year when he demolished Oscar De La Hoya, but the Golden Boy acknowledges his skills have diminished -- and Mayweather clearly is still at the top of his game.
Mayweather was too heavy and too speedy for his undersized Mexican opponent in his first fight since stopping Ricky Hatton in December 2007. He then took a lengthy break from the sport that's dominated his life since he was a toddler, but returned for another eight-figure payday that should end any IRS troubles while setting up another megafight.
"I've been off for two years, so I felt like it took me a couple of rounds to really know I was back in the ring again," Mayweather said. "I know I'll get better."
Mayweather had a hefty advantage in this one, weighing in at 146 pounds Friday. He refused to re-weigh himself Saturday night, so the true size of his advantage might never be known. Fighters often gain several pounds between the weigh-in and their bouts.
But his size advantage was obvious from the opening bell, when it became clear Marquez would struggle just to get close enough to throw good combinations.
"He surprised me with the first knockdown," Marquez said. "He hurt me in that round, but not any other time. I don't want to make any excuses, but the weight was the problem. He's too fast."
Judge Burt Clements gave every round to Mayweather, 120-107. Dave Moretti threw the eighth round to Marquez for a 119-108 total, while William Lerch gave two rounds to Marquez, 118-109. The Associated Press had a whitewash, 120-107.
Mayweather abruptly knocked down Marquez midway through the second round when Marquez walked into a left hook, but Mayweather largely stuck to his jab, leaned back in his familiar defensive posture and picked apart another opponent.
Marquez had a bloody nose by the bout's midway point, and Mayweather landed several hard shots late in the sixth. Whenever Marquez appeared to land a combination, Mayweather invariably backed away with a grin.
"When I hit him, he laughed, but I knew he felt my punches," Marquez said. "We tried to work the speed, but the difference was the weight."
Marquez added a brave defeat to a career noted for its disappointments as much as its triumphs. Marquez still seethes over his 0-1-1 record in two fights against Pacquiao, and he followed Pacquiao's path up in weight in search of bigger bouts, which he got in recent wins over Joel Casamayor and Juan Diaz.
Mayweather chose Marquez for his return bout after flirting with Pacquiao, who will fight Miguel Cotto in the same arena less than two months from now. Marquez's size disadvantage immediately raised eyebrows, but the veteran champion embraced the chance for his biggest payday and the chance to take down the unbeaten Mayweather.
A Mayweather-Pacquiao fight would be the biggest in the sport, but a more natural opponent also wants a piece of Money. Sugar Shane Mosley called out Mayweather in the ring immediately after the fight, with Golden Boy representatives forced to separate the two.
The lukewarm public response to the bout underlined industry concerns Mayweather can't sell a pay-per-view on his own. The Grand Garden wasn't sold out just a few days before the fight, and large swaths of empty seats greeted the undercard fighters, though they were mostly filled before Mayweather entered the ring.

mayweather reminds me of pernell whitaker, the way he evades shots pero i knw pernell is better...
well anyway while pacquiao has a comparable speed and quickness to mayweather, he is not as accurate as marquez.. mahihirapan si pacquiao dito sa laban na ito... but i hope pacquiao wins against cotto to setup a fight against mayweather..
that will be a hell of a fight.. an offensive fighter in pacquiao against a defensive wizard in mayweather.. parang julio cesar chavez and pernell whitaker relived (well pernell dominated the fight pero JCC went home with a disputed draw)..

ill lean over to mayweather.. he is the more accurate puncher pero pacquiao should land more because he throws more..
mayweather wont come forward like he did against marquez but he will stalk, stick and move against pacquiao..
pacquiao should develop traps like bernard hopkins did when his speed declined..

--------------
The style of Marquez seemed like crap against Mayweather. He wasnt attacking much, waiting to counter punch a defensive fighter seems like a bad idea. That is why he did great against pac in both fights. Marquez kept on waiting for Mayweather to attack.
There wasnt much punching happening...

The pound for pound king is BACK!
After 2 years of rest, Floyd Mayweather jr. showed no signs of slowing and backing down.
Manny and May will be a real fight but I'm gonna go with May again. Manny does tear up shit, and real fast, but I think May will toy with him see his weakness and go at it.
Floyd Mayweather jr. is just a boxing genius!

di na sanay ang katawan ni Marquez sa welterweight...pero gaya ng sabi nya.."there is no excuses"...mabagal si marquez para kay PBF
di na sanay??? e di ba first fight pa lang to ni marquez as a welterweight???(catchweight pa...)

maganda din ung undercard.. im impressed with michael katsidis beating a solid vicente escobedo.. natalo sya with two top lightweights in joel casamayor and juan diaz and its about time to rebound..
chris john once again proved that he is an underappreciated elite.. walang kwenta si rocky juarez sa kanya (the same rocky juarez that gave marco antonio barrera problems) pero tinamaan sya ng renowned power ni rocky juarez..
i dont think pacquiao will win against mayweather pero relative to marquez i think he has a better chance...

let us remember that no matter how perfect looking mayweather might be, he was shown to be beatable..
lets see... semi-retired and future hall of famer jose luis castillio almost won against floyd.. i thought castillio won the fight but it is a close fight pero hanggang ngaun marami pa ring nagsasabi na panalo dapat si jose luis castillio sa laban na ito.. in this fight castillio did something that floyd's other opponents failed to do.. that is to cut the ring, jab in his face, and jose luis castillio even gave a blueprint on how to overcome floyd's shoulder block.. that is to go to floyd's left and pepper his face with hooks then go down to the body before floyd escapes.. now, jose luis castillio is not as fast as floyd so that is the biggest disadvantage on castillio's part..
zab judah KNOCKED DOWN floyd once but the referee refused to call it as if he never saw floyd's glove touching the canvass.. in this fight, zab judah lost but gave a damn fight early on.. he uses his speed against floyd (believe it or not, zab judah is faster than pacquiao, floyd mayweather, shane mosley and may be comparable to ivan calderon those days).. zab judah shown us how a speedy southpaw can give floyd problems peroas usual as gifted as zab is, he always break down during the late rounds..
oscar de la hoya's jabs exposed that floyd doesnt know how to react against jabs (floyd's reaction to oscar's jabs is worse than his reactions with jose luis castillio's jabs).. oscar de la hoya had a perfect game plan against mayweather courtesy of freddie roach in the first 4 rounds but oddly, oscar went after floyd and looked as if making the bout a slugfest in which floyd mayweather refused to engage in so floyd won the remaining rounds.. floyd counterpunched his way to victory.. oscar de la hoya is the only fighter to beat floyd in at least one scoredcard EVER...
freddie roach may find a way to beat floyd.. pacquiao is not as big as jose luis castillio or oscar de la hoya to jab his way through floyd, and not as fast as zab judah but i think floyd can be defeated by pacquiao pero parang dadaan sa butas ng karayom si pacquiao sa laban na iyon kung mangyayari man iyon... i want pacquiao to win against him pero it will be hard..

The problem is Floyd improves every match he fights. And we can see the result in his fight against Marquez. Where Marquez thought he can still use the jab that gave Mayweather jr. problem in his other fights but suddenly Floyd just laughs everytime Marquez tries to go with jabs and even his power punches.

Mayweather/Marquez goes above one million buys
By Jeremy Botter September 23, 2009 Post a comment | Email the author
Consider this very good news for boxing in general: the Floyd Mayweather Jr./Juan Manuel Marquez bout from last Saturday pulled at least one million pay per view buys, and may go as high as 1.6 million when all is said and done.
That’s from Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, who reported the news last night.
The UFC is a privately owned company and does not have to release its pay-per-view sales, which it chooses not to do. Occasionally, we’re able to find out what a particular fight sold, but it’s not often. From what I’m hearing, though, the Mayweather fight had a convincing victory. I’m hearing the Mayweather-Marquez pay-per-view is going to come in at or near 1 million sales. I don’t have a verifiable figure for the UFC, but I believe it will be far lower than 1 million. The boxing number should be released by Thursday at the latest and perhaps on Wednesday.
We’re almost always able to find out what the UFC does on PPV, but it comes from the cable companies and not from Zuffa itself. But Kevin is absolutely correct about UFC 103; I would be absolutely shocked if it breaks the 600,000 buy barrier. I think a number around 450,000 is probably more accurate, which isn’t bad when you consider that the show was headlined by Rich Franklin vs. Vitor Belfort in a non-title catchweight bout.
As I said above, this is very good news for boxing. It’s also very good news for “Money” Mayweather, who cements himself as one of the biggest PPV draws in combat sports.

Well Manny will be put to the test if he can compete at welterweight by beating Miguel Cotto. Manny proved that he can compete at Junior Welterweight. Even if he lose this fight, JMM III or fight against Top JWW are waiting for him.
Hay sa wakas, after 16 years, matutuloy na rin ang laban. Wag lang sanang ma-cancelled.

LOS ANGELES -- Sixteen years after they first met, Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins will finally fight again.
For years, they talked on and off about a rematch, but the negotiations always fell apart over how they would split the money.
Hopkins
Jones
But with both men now past their 40th birthdays and no significant fights looming for either, they finally nailed down the elusive deal, signing an agreement Friday for a light heavyweight fight sometime in the first quarter of 2010, both sides told ESPN.com.
It will be televised on HBO PPV.
"Sixteen years ago they fought each other and went on and made history in their own way," said Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer, Hopkins' promoter. "Each one is considered today as ring royalty. That's why I think when those two guys are going to fight it will be to determine who will be king of the ring. We went back and forth for so long, but we finally pulled it off. They both signed and they will fight. It will be a truly historic showdown. A lot of people didn't believe it would ever happen. But guess what? It's going to happen."
However, the deal is contingent on Jones' first winning a Dec. 2 fight in Australia against Australian cruiserweight Danny Green, which has been planned for a couple of months.
Also as part of their deal, Hopkins is allowed to take an interim fight before the end of the year. In an interview at Schaefer's downtown Los Angeles office, he said Hopkins, who hasn't fought since easily outpointing Kelly Pavlik 11 months ago, was inclined to fight a tune-up bout. Schaefer said he was working on a plan under which Hopkins would fight in his hometown of Philadelphia against an opponent to be determined on the same day as Jones' fight in Australia.
Under the terms of the agreement, Jones (54-5, 40 KOs) and Hopkins (49-5-1, 32 KOs) agreed to split the revenue 50-50, which had always been the sticking point. If there is a knockout or a TKO, the winner of the fight will get 60 percent and the loser 40 percent.
"I don't like that at all," Jones, 40, said of the knockout provision. "I love it. I absolutely love it. Love it. That is all I can say. I'm definitely looking forward to this fight. The fans have wanted to see it for a long time. For the longest time, he wouldn't take it. Now he's taking it. I'm ecstatic. I can't wait."
Jones said he thought about pulling out of the Green fight but won't because he had given his word and signed a contract. John Wirt, CEO of Jones' promotional company, said Jones was receiving a "multimillion dollar payday" for the fight with Green.
"I'm in a very difficult situation," said Jones, who would be 41 for the Hopkins fight. "I respect Green. I know we signed and I thought maybe I should just pull out. But I can't deny Danny. This is one of the biggest fights in the history of his country. This is how it is. So I'll give him the biggest fight in his country and that will get me ready for Hopkins and the biggest fight in my country. I'd rather let the Green fight go, but I'm a man of my word. It wouldn't be fair to back out on him now.
"It's time to take care of my business and then come back here and beat Bernard Hopkins."
Before either man became a star, they met for a vacant middleweight title on May 22, 1993 with Jones winning a clear unanimous decision. Jones would go on to dominate the sport as the pound-for-pound king for about a decade and win titles in four divisions. Hopkins would later claim the middleweight title after Jones left the division and go on to make a division-record 20 defenses before moving up and claiming the light heavyweight championship.
"I beat him with one hand the first time," Jones said of their first fight, in which he fought with a damaged right hand. "What am I worried about?"
The sides have other smaller issues to work out, such as which fighter gets first billing, who walks to the ring first and who is announced first.
Wirt said the sides agreed to settle all of the outstanding issues with a coin flip.
"This is a straight up 50-50 deal," Wirt said. "We'll settle everything with a coin flip. We're going to have a commemorative coin made with Roy's face on one side and Bernard's on the other and use it to decide everything. We'd like to get that televised on
ESPN. It would be fun."
Schaefer and Wirt gave a lot of credit to HBO's Mark Taffet for bringing the sides together. Jones had been on board with a 50-50 deal. Getting Hopkins, who would be 45 for the fight, was more difficult, but they made a lot of progress during a meeting in Las Vegas last week among between Schaefer, Hopkins and Taffet.
"There have been a lot of people who worked very hard, but a lot of credit goes to Mark, who shepherded this thing through and really helped make it happen," Wirt said.
Schaefer said there is no site yet for the fight, but that he and Wirt would speak to venues in Las Vegas, New York and Atlantic City, N.J., although they preferred Las Vegas.

Cris Arreola lost to Vitali but gives him the toughest challenge since the Chris Byrd fight.
Here are the fighters that can revive the heavyweight:
Eddie Chambers - probably the fastest heavyweight prospect today.
Alexander Povetkin - another good heavyweight prospect.
David Haye - Former undisputed cruiserweight champion. Will face Nicholai Valuev for the WBA heavyweight champion
Cris Arreola - has a big heart but lacks discipline. If he can shape up and train properly, he could have a bigger chance to become champion.

Whoa! That will be a bad move. Considering he has to lose more than 20 lbs. It could affect his health and he is not getting young either. He might end up destroying his body just like Roy Jones. But if he really wants to challenge the winner, he should make it a cruiserweight fight. It will still be a risk but not as big as moving down to light heavy.
If he can perform great just like the Vassily Jirov fight, it will be a great fight.

heres an incredible news... jorge linares, one of the best super featherweights today, a sparrring partner of pacquiao, and one of the most talented fighter below welterweight division was KOed in ONE round by the unknown juan salgado... wow... what a shame...
thoughts on this??
Surprising but you have to expect the unexpected, This is boxing after all. Anything can happen in the ring. Remember James Douglas was supposed to be destroyed by Mike Tyson but the opposite happen.

i think the jorge linares loss will be an upset of the year candidate...
may laban pala around the corner.. dalawa sa mga super six... abraham will win against taylor pero i wont be surprised if taylor wins..

Abraham is untested. Taylor's lose was coz by his lack of stamina. He will do great in the early rounds until he gasses and become slow.

its only interesting to note na natalo nya si edison miranda TWICE.. the first one with a 114-109, 115-109, 116-109 unanimous decision that looks like a one sided affair and a rematch that saw edison miranda being knocked out.. so i guess if i am to pick, ill pick arthur abraham to win..

I think its more of a 50/50 fight. Taylor was doing good in the Froch fight. If it wasnt for the KO, he already won that fight.
Taylor also beat Raul Marquez. Manage a draw with Winky Wright and the only man to beat Bhop twice.
I dont think AA can hang with the likes of Bhop and Winky. He might get schooled, but thats just my opinion.

Ano naman pagpupusthan natin. Meron na bang point system dito?
It's good that I have internet so I can watch the fight live online.

about direll-froch.. im not sure.. froch has more experience pero he is sloppy when he fought taylor who is not as fast as direll..
direll can change styles and is an excellent amateur fighter pero masyadong maaga yata ang break na ito para sa kanya.. pero siger ill take direll to win..

A usual laging nagfade siya sa late rounds. Taylor lost his hunger. Considering he is on losing streak, I think he should.
Considering he beat fast opponents like Pascal and Taylor, he proved himself to be a good fighter. But more test to come when Kessler vs Ward comes. Kessler is the favorite but I love to see an upset.

prediction for the fight:
kelangan ni pacquiao umiwas kay cotto sa unang round pero dapat makalamang sya at makatama ng marami.. ang mga body punch ay matagal ang epekto kesa sa mga tama sa mukha.. pag dumami ang tama ng body punch ni cotto, babagal si pacquiao at magiging open sya for all kinds of punsihment
